Materials can be purchased separately from me during the workshop or you can buy the whole set. I will have plenty of Davinci paint, Fabriano paper, brushes, boards, and everything you will need. Materials List - Stephen Kilborn Workshop - 2014

1. Easel - French easel or whatever portable kind you prefer. You can try one of mine I have several types.

2. Board - A little bigger than your paper, about 12" x 16" for 1/4 sheets. A 1/4 sheet measures about 15" x 11" which is the size paper we will frame.

3. Bulldog Clips - To hold paper to board.

4. Paper - 2 or 3, 22" x 30" sheets of 300# or 140# Hot Press Fabriano Artistico watercolor paper. This Fabriano paper is the best. You can even wash off a painting and reuse the paper. We will work on 1/4 sheets (11" x 15" ). In the past I have listed other papers, these are fine and it is good to try different surfaces, but the 300# Fabriano just does not wrap, even the 140# works great with a little tape. The Hot Press is good for putting the paint on more thickly. I like the 300# because I don't have to tape it.

5. Brushes - Whatever you are comfortable with. I use a few good quality "round" watercolor brushes, some stiffer flats and sometimes acrylic brushes. To put paint down thickly it is necessary to have some firmer brushes. In my set that I am selling I have a #6 and #10 round with a half inch wash.

6. Palette - I use a Tom Lynch plastic one or a folding one for travel. Lately I am favoring butcher trays (cheap and metal).

7. Paint - I use DaVinci 37ml watercolors or gouache because they are inexpensive and top quality. Gouache is a little more fluid and not as finely ground as watercolor. Mostly I use watercolors because they have more colors and you have the option of getting transparent effects. Artisans art supply store in Taos is closed. However I always have supplies for sale. Or you can buy the whole set for $275.

9. Sketch book - This is very important. have a good sized one ( 9" x 12" ) or whatever size you like and some pencils or whatever you draw with. A large felt tip pen would work well to loosen up with.

8. Misc.- Umbrella, paper towels, water container, sponges, spray bottle, berets, sunhats, whatever you use.....
